[ r e a d t r e a t ] - thank you and new dates
[ thank you ]
Hi
Firstly, a big thank you to those who joined the first [ r e a d t r e a t ] events over the last week. You all have official bragging rights for 'being there' at the first events.
We've been joined by big readers and small readers from around the world, including Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in Australia, Santiago in Chile and the Assam region of India, reading fiction and non-fiction. I especially enjoyed that on Friday morning's session, most of us were in our pyjamas!
What we read together this week...
📚 The Secret of the Highly Creative Thinker by Forte Nielsen and Sarah Thurber
📚 Death by Meeting by Patrick Lencioni
📚 Strive by Dr Adam Fraser
📚 Infinite Game by Simon Sinek
📚 Drive by Daniel Pink
📚 How Cities Work by Jen Feroze
📚 Psycho-cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz
📚 A Spot of Bother by Mark Haddon
📚 The Life Plan by Shannah Kennedy
📚 Immunity to Change by Dr Robert Kegan & Dr Lisa Lahey
📚 Influence by Robert B. Cialdini
I know that this space also gave some of you the nudge to take the reading time further into your days or weekends...
New dates for the rest of July are below. I'm taking a few days off next week so no mid-week sessions this week.
[ upcoming dates ]
I'm experimenting with some of the day and time options so if you have requests or ideas on times that would work well, please let me know by replying to this email.
[ how it works ]
[ DO THIS BIT RIGHT NOW ]
– book a spot at one of the upcoming dates using the buttons above
– put it in your diary (there’s a handy option to add it to your calendar when you book)
- tell a friend about it or share on your social media (you can tag @stephsbizbookshelf on Instagram)
You’ll receive a link to the online reading room one day before the session.
[ ON THE DAY ]
– make sure you’re in a comfortable spot (tea and snacks are strongly encouraged)
– log into our Zoom library (witty & punny name for this space still pending!)
– turn up with your latest reading material (fiction, non-fiction, magazine… it’s up to you)
– say a quick hi to your fellow bookworms
– enjoy the uninterrupted dedicated reading time
That’s it.
If you’ve got small people, big people or animals who would like to enjoy this communal, quiet reading space with you, they are always very welcome.
Looking forward to reading together.
