What most of your team are waiting for you to tell them ๐
Do you even learn?
Learning.ย You know, that thing you did at school / university / during your professional qualifications and vowed never to do again.
The old adage of 'every day's a school day' is just as true as it ever was.ย And in today's fast-paced, ever-changing environment, where companies live or die by their ability to keep up and evolve, our ability to learn is even more important than ever.ย
ย Simply put, learning is our only guaranteed job for life.
According to LinkedIn's recent workplace learning report, 94% of workers would stay at an organisation longer if it provided development opportunities.
Excellent!
However, almost all of them say that they do not have time to learn.
BUT 56% of workers say they would find time if their manager suggested a course they should do.
Which made me wonder...
- do we need to wait for permission to develop our professional skills? or;
- do we not know where to start in developing our skills? or;
- are we apathetic to the need to learn, and learn well, to future-proof our careers?
(or a combination of all three).
Either way, the majority of your team need YOU to have a development conversation with them and help them find a suitable course/learning experience to enhance their career.
What insight or hypothesis do you come up with from these statistics?
What will you do with this information?
"Itโs what you learn after you know it all that counts."
